Tehillah in Hebrew means Adoration, Thanksgiving, Praise.

Music is a Gift of God which awakens the sensibilities of the mind (intellect), soul and human spirit to express our gratitude, our praise and adoration to the Lord God. From the move of the Spirit of God (Ex.35:32 and I Cr.13:8), we can, with Music, express our gratitude, our praise and worship to the Lord, through a full and true sense of holiness and loyalty.

Tehillah: the essence of its meaning is a song, a praise, a prayer hymn. This is the word used in the psalms which, in Hebrew, is written"Sefer Tehillim", that is, book of chants, of praises.Tehillim is the plural ofTehillah.

Biblical texts where this word is mentioned:

Ps 4:4put a can in my mouthbrand new, a praise (tehillah) to our God.

Ps 22:3-4: By day I scream, my God, and you don't answer me. I cry out in the night, and you pay no attention to me! And you dwell in the sanctuary, you praise (tehillah) from Israel!

Ps 100:4 :Enter through its doors giving thanks, with songs of praise (tehillah) in his courts, celebrate him and bless his name.

  1. The main objective is to encourage musical integration among evangelical churches in Brazil;

  2. Develop musical activities in the local church and interact with other churches, whose  in order to further enrich the technical quality of musicians and music (composing, arranging, re-reading, diversifying the repertoire, etc.);

  4. To produce SPIRITUAL enrichment and development;

  5. Urgency to carry out work for the Kingdom of God: Mark 4:26-29 and Luke 13:18-21.

We observe that nowadays – in the 2nd decade of the 21st century – the organization of music in the process of evangelical worship requires care. This observation is obtained from the vision through which we noticed that there is a restricted format regarding the use of music for Praise and Worship and for Evangelization.  What we can highlight is the fact that the diversity of musical genres and styles, and especially of organizations and musical participation in the church, can and should be enriched, as we present in thegoals of ourproject.

Full care, continuous dedication, the sublime spirit of worship, awareness of God's will, are the directions that must guide the church when worshiping the Lord. These findings come from what we read in the Word of the Lord God, in the books of Chronicles, Esdras, Nehemiah, Psalms and Ephesians.

1 Chronicles 15:27(a)

And David was dressed in a mantle of fine linen, as were all the Levites who carried the ark, and the singers, and Kenaniah, the master of the singers.

Ezra 3:10

So when the builders had laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, then the priests stood, arrayed and with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with psalteries, to praise the LORD, according to the commandment of David, king of Israel.

Nehemiah 12:27

And at the dedication of the walls of Jerusalem, they sought the Levites from all their places, to bring them in, in order to make the dedication with gladness, praises, singing, psalteries, psalteries and harps.

Psalm 144:9

To you, O God, I will sing a new song; with the psaltery and instrument of ten strings I will sing praises to you;

Ephesians 5:19,20

Speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, constantly giving thanks to God the Father for all things, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In order to reach and carry out our objectives, we have the following guidelines (which are flexible and, therefore, may receive structural additions or formatting depending on the local or social context where the project will be carried out).

  1. Gather people (pastors, musicians and members of evangelical churches) to present the project;

  2. Define the structure (note 1) for holding events (musical and evangelistic services);

  3. Define the means to obtain and organize the elements that make up the structure;

  4. Define the schedule (dates and participants) for each event (note 2).

Note 1the structure should be as simple as possible (in volume of equipment and costs) and with the highest accessible quality.

Note 2: the dates must be maintained at all times. Participants and locations may be made flexible (changed: add or change participants) no more than 45 days in advance.

The Biblical Concept of TEHILLAH and the entire Word of the Lord God, show us that music is a Gift of God and is used for His Praise, Worship and Glorification.

TEHILLAH arises in the heart of God and becomes sublime for us, as servants and Sons of the Lord, when David, under the guidance and direction of the Lord, proposes and establishes Music as a means of expression and worship. This procedure, through music, remained until the times of Jesus, the primitive church and reached us, in the 21st century.

The Lord God Created Music.

Music is in the Heavens From Eternity (Psalm 90:2).

The angels praise the Creator, the Eternal, with Music from eternity and for all eternity.

Men were granted the ability to invent and create musical instruments (Ex. 35:35).

Men were also granted the ability to invent and play music:

David played the harp, as he used to. [1 Samuel 18:10(b)]

Men were granted the heavenly privilege of Praising God through Music (I Cr. 13:8). To the redeemed, saved by Jesus, the Messiah sent from God, our Good Shepherd, will be granted the indescribable and Eternal Joy (Is. 35:10) of being in the perfect presence of the Lord, in eternal glory and praise with "him that sitteth on the throne and the Lamb" (Ap. 5:13), for all eternity.

Hebrews 6:10

God is not unfair; he will not forget your work and the love you showed him as you helped the Saints and continue to help them.

1 Peter 4:10

Each one exercisesto the gift he received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its many forms.

And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, I hail you.

Matthew 28:9(a).
